Like the message title states, will the Zalman CNPS 7000 CU heatsink/fan fit alright onto an Abit IC7 revision 1.1?

itll fit ~ but you wont be able to upgrade the NB HSF (cause they wont both fit)

if you want both youll need a swiftech mcx, alpha pal, or thermalright sp-94.

:)

In terms of upgrading the northbridge heatsink/fan, what do you mean? I have revision 1.1 of the IC7 that comes with the noisy, orb-like heatsink/fan (the one in this picture). Are you saying the Zalman CNPS 7000 CPU heatsink/fan won't fit on my board with the northbridge heatsink/fan shown in that picture?

Thanks a bunch. I was thinking about changing the heatsink/fan on the northbridge to quiet it down a bit. Don't think that's going to work too well with the Zalman CNPS 7000. Maybe the SP-94 is the way to go.

BTW, does anybody have any suggestions for a good, but quite, northbridge heatsink/fan that is available in Canada?

I'm not sure how much different the IC7 is than the IS7, but I have the 7000 AlCu and the Zalman ZM-NB47J NB heatsink (large blue one) on my IS7. They are very close, but they fit without any modifications. I just used the stock NB spring clip to attach my NB heatsink.

Well, I don't own new version, but it fit on the origional Max2, as that is what I use. People were even using the NB heatsink as well. All you had to do was trim 3 or 4 of the fins back 1/4 - 1/3 inch and it fit fine.
