Zalman 7700-AlCu on Chaintech VNF3-250

Anyone have this HSF/mobo combination? Looking at pictures, it seems like the backplate supplied with the Zalman is the same as the backplate already on the mobo. So, is it worth it to replace it? Not a huge deal, I know, I'll probably take the whole thing apart to make the installation easier anyway, but I've heard the stock backplates can be difficult to remove, and if I don't have to, I'd rather not risk damaging something. Thanks.

If the screw size and threads that come with the Zalman fit your backplate, you should have no worries....

i had to replace mine, and it's a pain to get the stock one off.

You had to replace it because the Zalman screws didn't fit it or for some other reason?

Either way, you should be able to find some screws that will fit your backplate and Zalman top bracket at your local hardware store. You just want to make sure they are not too long so they don't touch the case.
