Zalman 7000 HSF question

So I got one of these and the power supply in my box clearly is in the way of the clearance of the HSF. It would seem that ANY mid-tower case would have this problem with this HSF. Am I missing something?

I have the Zalman 7000 in a Enermax mid-tower on top of a P4 in an Asus P4p800 mobo. There is plenty of space between the HS & PS. Could it be that the PS in your case is not the PS that came with it and it is larger than the original PS? Just a thought!

Depends on the motherboard and the case. All are different.

Just take a pair of tinsnips to that heatsink and snip off a few fins, dude.

The Zalman is awesome because it is so easy to modify-- The fins are so light and thin. A snip here and a snip there, and it will fit in your case no problems, with little degradation to performance.

fits perfectly fine in mine, actually I have about 4" of space between my PSU and the top of the Zalman...

Zalman's website has a motherboard compatibility chart that highlights issues including the one you've run into. It's typical of the newer socket A boards.
