Zalman 1000watt or ThermalTake 1200?

Greetings,

I'm going to buy one of the following PSUs and I'm just can't really decide.

The Zalamn ZM 1000 or the ThermalTake Toughpower 1200 ?

My PC is overclocked and here are the specs :

C2D E 6860 @ 3.7 GHz
Gigabyte X38-DQ6
4x1 Kingston DDR2 1066 RAM
4x1 WD SATA Hard drives 7200 RPM
1 LG DVD burner
XFI FItality Sound card
3 120MM fans
and 7 USB devices plugged to it.

I'm going to buy 2 4870X2 early next month or so......

Which PSU do you think is enough?

I'm thinking the thermalTake since I've had good luck with the ToughPOwer PSUs!

Thx.

Should've went with the Zalman. 😉

Either are overkill and the Zalman is less money. 😀

Great webpage you have, if you are from the jonnyGUru webpage ! 😉

I made some calculations on how much I really need and I found out that I might top 800 watts with this PC if I installed 2 4870x2 cards.

The Zalman has no power switch on its back side which really annoyed me and its cables are a little shorter than the thermalTake.

Yeah. No ON/OFF switch is certainly a PITA. But I'm a sucker for the heatpipe/radiator design. 😉

True, the heatpipe inside the Zalman is a great idea, yet not a selling point for me.

Right now I'm runing the ThermalTake and it is really a great PSU!

Now I should eaither wait for the retailers to restock for the HD 4870X2 or wait untill Nvidia or ATI comes out with a new revisions of their cards!
