So recently, I received a static shock from my pc, ever since then i've had problems, before the shock, my gpu from the beginning stops detecting being detected from time to time, usually every 3-4 days, only by reseating it a couple of times alongside with the ram sticks, does the gpu start detecting again. Now my problem is, whenever the gpu is seated, the pc gives a error message saying, over current detected USB restarting in 15 seconds, only when I do remove the gpu does the pc start booting with no problems. I've removed the front panel usb connectors on the mobo, but still no luck, with the gpu seated my pc boots up giving error message.

I've already tried, clearing CMOS, taking the battery out, taking things out, such as the RAM, gpu and some of the connectors on the panel. I arranged novatech to pick the gpu up tomorrow to see if the gpu is the problem.

What do you guys think ? my money is on the mobo being faulty, but then I think, it works fine without the gpu, but with the gpu seated, it doesnt work, maybe it's the PSU not supplying enough power ? Is there anything else I can check ?

Have you tried plugging in a different GPU or testing your GPU to other motherboards? if you have another PCIE slot, have you tried plugging your GPU on that slot?

try to isolate first the GPU and the PCIE slot. if both came out clear. that's the time you start to venture on the other parts of your rig.
