Hi, I'm building a system for a friend, and this is my first time working with the Z68 chipset. My friend will be using the PC mostly for number crunching, so he does NOT need a discreet GPU, but he does want dual monitors.

So my question, is there a way to get dual displays going on a board with the Z68 chipset without having discreet graphics?

Intel states that the integrated Intel 3000 is "dual display capable"

Intel also states that the z68 has "multi monitor support" in windows 7

I am not sure how smooth that will be though, especially at higher resolutions. I realize that using integrated graphics will keep the build cost down quite a bit, but a discreet GPU may be able to help with number crunching depending on what exactly your friend is doing.
