Z560 vs DIGITAL spks from Cambridge/AltecLansing

Just wondering how the Z560s compare to similar DIGITAL speakers from Cambridge and Altec. The former two companies have been quite succesful in making speakers and Logitech is new. But everyone is raving about the new Z560s.

Any diff between digital speakers and the 560s ?

i wonder myself. i went with analog speakers after all my comparisons. but i was comparing the altec lasing ada890 speakers (digital), midiland 8200 (digital), and the klipsch promedia 4.1s. in the end i got the 4.1s and wasn't happy enough because i wanted 5.1 so i returned those and got the promedia 5.1s. now i want to get the new Klipsch DD 5.1 and make my speakers digital with a toslink or spidf cable. so much money but my Hercules Game Theater XP is an awesome sound card. i got it when it first came out and have never been so amazed by it. it's awesome.

Yeah the hercules is a very nice card. But after thinking about it, if the speakers are THX certified, they should be pretty good whether they're analog or digital.

I know i wont be. But just wondering how they compare to the cambridge or altec sets. Altec's top of the line set is hovering around 180watts and is supposed to be amazing... so i wonder how these 400watt Z560's are gonna sound.

that's very true. i just got the speakers about 2 months ago. i had the altec lansing ATP3s prior. they served me well. but i needed surround sound. the z560s from logitech will be great for you from what i hear.
