Im thinkin about just buying a set of Z560s But i have a few questions to ask you owners.

A. Im afraid the speakers are just ALL base meaning not good highs or mids, what do you guys think?

B. How do they compare to the Klipsch Promedia lines?

C. How is Logitechs Customer Support beacuase i have heard of these speakers blowing often.

D. Are these speakers only good for gaming or are they also good for Music?

E. How are the controls on these? (what is there, base terbble vol?)

F. Is there a Line-in and a Headphone jack on these?

G. Where can i get the best deal on them online ;)

Please answer my questions truthfuly and carefully (dont just write "oh they kick ass!")

Thanks guys :)

A) The speakers have good high frequency response. They are not going to be as detailed as a system that has a speparate mid-range and tweeter but they still sound really good. I find that guitar and other high freuency string instruments sound really good though them. They are though a little boomy on the bass end. This can be good and bad. I would like them a little better if the bass was tighter but they still sound really good for the money.

B-D) N/C

E) There is a bass, fade and main volume control. There is no treble control.

F) There is a headphone jack on the control pod but no mic/line input.

Edit: I have had them since November and I have not had a problem with them yet. My friend though has a set and he blew them about 3 weeks after he bought them. He did have the bass turned all the way up most of the time and the volume past half-way (way too loud for my liking) while listening to bass heavy music (techno).

Here's a few answers:

A. I've got the bass turned down almost all the way because they're so powerful, and the mids and highs sound fine to me. One thing I would suggest is upgrading the speaker wire. I've got a friend who makes them and he gave me some new wire and it makes a HUGE difference. Sound is much clearer

B. Dunno, never listened to them.

C. Dunno, never needed to call them. :)

D. I got rid of my stereo and just listen to mp3s all the time, and they rock for music. Nice and clear.

E. Volume, power, bass, fade and the "M3D" are all on the control center, which is a separate unit.

F. There's a headphone jack on the control center, so it's nice and easy to get to.

G. I got them from 2buystore.com when they had a special on free shipping; just went there now, and shipping is now $80. So, can't help you here. Sorry.

Dear god, how did he not go deaf? Even with the bass halfway and the volume on less than a quarter I find it distractingly loud. Eardrums of steel?

He has lost some of his hearing already. I have to repeat myself many times for him to hear me when talking in the same room. to give you an idea of how loud it was, it was loud enough to rattle a solid wood door while shut and the sub was on an adjacent wall. I usually have the bass all the way down and I usually have them at less than quarter power

The sound is good, highs and mids. The bass is overwhelming, but can be managed.

A. pretty much the same thing nightowl said, but i dont find the bass too loud on the lowest setting... i do wish it would go lower tho, b/c i cant listen to music at normal levels when my parents go to bed (my room is above theirs so you can hear the bass through the walls real easily with that much power).

b. n/a

c. i only had 2 probs... once the right rear channel on the amp blew.. verified with a multimeter and had 0 volts coming from it... i called up logitech, they just asked me a couple questions (did i try it on other equipment, standard stuff to make sure it was really the speakers and not the sound card) and gave me an RMA #. pretty easy, but just pray you dont have to do that... the cheapest i could get was $40 to ship it back  the second problem i had was a VERY loud pop, followed by squeaks coming from the satellites and loud booms coming from the sub (even with volume turned all the way down). i left it unplugged overnight, and someone suggested it might be some kind of electrical interference, so before i plugged it back in, i moved it a little farther away from the computer and monitor. havent had that problem since... go figure.

d. good for everything :)

e. again, bass doesnt go quite low enough for parents' liking, but it think its fine;):)

f. just headphone

g. no clue :p

Not all bass. I put my sub under the desk about 4 feet away. There are 2 PCs between me and the sub. I get decent highs, some mids and of course bass. I like the sound.

B. How do they compare to the Klipsch Promedia lines?

No idea.

C. How is Logitechs Customer Support beacuase i have heard of these speakers blowing often.

I've had mine since January and use the crap out of them - with NO problems.

D. Are these speakers only good for gaming or are they also good for Music?

I mostly listen to music. No time for games anymore.

E. How are the controls on these? (what is there, base terbble vol?)

There are bass, fader and volume.

F. Is there a Line-in and a Headphone jack on these?

No line in, head phones in the volume comtrol box.

G. Where can i get the best deal on them online ;)

check t3ch barg41ns. There are reburbs that can be had under a 100 bones.

oh yeah,

they kick ass.

I'm sorry, could you speak up? :)

I find that I needed to EQ mine a bit to get a good sound. You need a fairly good sized room to get the proper acoustic out of these excellent little speakers... a small cube room like mine needed some tweaking.

So far no probs.. I pray I don't have any since I don't have the box anymore.

What kind of wire? Links?

It's called Siren, by Evidence Audio: Siren

Costs $71 for 20' cable, but I got 50' for like $15 shipped. :D

Like I said, I've got a friend who works for the company, and he's the one who designed the wires.

I really do not like these speakers. The mid bass is way too pronounced and boomy whereas there is almost no deep bass. The sub is way too powerful. On the control pod i have the bass turned all the way down and there is still way too much sub. These are one of the few speakers i have heard that give me a pounding headache after listening to them for just a few minutes. I much prefer my Monsoon MM-700.

With most sound cards nowadays you can adjust your bass and treble settings in the audio properties. If you don't like the loud bass just turn it down in Windows 9x/2k/XP; it works great for me.

When speakers blow due to Techno music, it's the speakers way of rebelling against crappy music.
