I turn on my z560's today and there is no bass....need bass....must have bass.

Anyone else have this problem with the z560s?

Thank Logitech for their less than stellar heat dissipation technique. :( Hope they're still under warrenty..

EDIT: Forgot to add that the Logitechs do have a built-in limiter... turn off the speakers and unplug them... let them cool for 2 hours and try again (not at max volumes either).

I tried that, and I tried unplugging everything and replugging and it's still dead...I'm giving logitech support a call tomorrow...that would suck to have to ship these...it's so heavy!

And the great thing about logitech RMA is that theyre actually out of stock of z560s! So it will be god knows how long until I get mine back!

Probably just tried to get sound out of them;)
the z560's are pretty notorious for this.. No amount of babying or 'burn-in' seems to matter.. I think it's about a 50/50 ratio of those that are 100% fine forever vs. those that do this.
Tons and tons and tons of posts on this @ sharkys

It's a gamble - but if you win it's a great deal on some powerful speakers

Yeah, as I mentioned in a previous thread, the Z560s and the PM 5.1s have a very high failure rate. I'm not sure why... kind of weird. My friend's Z560s are doing fine and my PM 5.1s are showing no signs of problems.

I guess the force is strong over here. :D

This is why I would hand my cash to Klipsch...A dedicated speaker and enclosure manufacturer.;)

update - I called logitech and they are going to send a replacement set, who knows how long it will be or how long they will last. I have to send back the control center, and get this, CUT OFF the power from the old bass and send it to them. I guess they don't want people paying $40 for shipping, and they don't want people requesting new sets if they have working ones, so now I'm stuck with a bass with no power cord and 4 sattelites with no control center.

I would say the Z560's are solid speakers. I think MOST people who buy them dont have too many problems. There's always the select few that wanna take speakers to the max for long periods of time - and that can be dangerous business!

Well, I wasn't one of those users, I only had them for six months, never past full volume. I don't know if I should have kept them on all the time, my computer is on 24/7 and some of the time I turned the speakers off at night. It still shouldn't break down if they are only being used for a couple hours a day for six months.

The z560's have insanely loud bass. I turn my bass knob down to 1/3, and in windows I turn the bass slider of my Audigy down below the first notch. I find that this gives the most realistic bass ratio. I can see how lots of them blow themselves, as the bass is way to loud by default.

bass definitely took some tweaking before i could hear my roomate ;) . knock on wood but my set is working superbly, best wishes on your replacement. this is just a case of a popular product getting sold out, then people wondering why so many posts on forums. if other speakers were as widely bought as these in the last six months we would have seen lots of posts about those. so its not always a "X company sucks" problem.
