Z5500 Question

After longing to buy the Z5500's, I finally bought them online at dell. Picked up a Digital Fiber Optic cable today for when it arrives I can hook up my 360 to it.

Question - I want to hook up my HDTV Reciever + my 360 to my Z5500's but both have Digital fiber optic Cable output but the speakers has only 1 Fiber Optic cable input. Can I convert one Fiber optic cable to digital Coaxial and still work? Perhaps an Optical Cable Switch with 2 inputs on one end while the other is in the Z5500's.

Are you sure your receiver doesn't have a digital coax connection? It may be orange or black.

Yeah, you might check. Its usually an orange colored RCA connector. Might be clumped with the red/white and yellow ones.

I'm trying to think what would be the best solution if it does have only optical. I seem to recall there was a 2 into 1 type of adapter that might allow you to do what you're wanting but I'm not sure.

I checked my Comcast HDTV Reciever and it only has the Red/ White RCA cables and a Optical Digital output, no coaxial. Would this work? http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-L...SPLITTER/dp/B0002MQGR2

You'd want to get a switch rather than a splitter unless you know for sure that you'd only ever have one of those sources on at a time.

You could get a converter, but I think having a switch would be more useful.

What model of Comcast HDTV receiver do you have? Mine has both optical and coax. It's a Motorola DCT 6200-2005.

wow, your right! I feel so stupid 🙁 I never noticed that above the Component there was a Coaxial output, always assumed it was another RCA output because of the colors and never noticed the orange one in between them. Thanks guys!

No sweat, I was under the same misguided impression for a little while too.
