For what it's worth, there are better christmas displays than that one... for whatever reason, that's the one that became famous on the internet. If you look around, you can find some that are even better.

I'm still trying to convince my wife to let me do something similar. I've been gradually accumulating very large numbers of christmas lights. I've played with the software to control the lights. I've priced the necessary hardware. Fairly do-able. Now, I just have to convince the wife to let me pull the trigger. Not gonna be this year, but mayyyybe next year.

This thread further goes to show that YoYo is the only one who knows how to use the search engine effectively...or at least has the patience to do so.

some others (still looking for a particular few that are better than the OP)
here - not as good as the OP, but exact same idea.

This one shows how much can be done, but there's too much in too little of a space for the display. here It's amusing more because they didn't bother shooting a better video at say, 2 am when there weren't people walking dogs, driving by, etc.

Another here
Not too bad.

Cuter one: yellow snow

Almost on a par with the one in the OP: here

Another on a par with the OP: here Not the high impact song of Wizards in Winter, but a better display. same house different song silent night same house

And, if you go to www.lightorama.com you can view many other videos. The one I considered "best" was on their site, but I can't open it for some reason.

oh.. i'd kill to do something like that around here.. we live in the semi-sticks where it's really, really dark at night. that would look great.

however, i don't think i have the 'stick-to-it-iveness' to get a job like this done.

did anyone else think the lights of the 2 rooms (on opposite ends on 2nd floor) looked like eyes? 'twas kinda spooky..........otherwise it was great!
