i have to laugh about the vette being "good value."
every seen the prices on a 10 or 15 year old vette? they are barely worth more than a honda accord of the same vintage. basically the car will lose all value over time, whereas a ferrari will dip a bit (good luck getting even the crappiest ferrari for less than $30K), but if kept in really condition, will increase again eventually. and in the meantime you get to own a FERRARI, instead of a Chevy. and yeah, some of the very first corvettes have kept some value, but i don't think anyone will look back at any corvette made past the early 70's as a "classic."
edit: a 1991 Corvette in good condition is worth a whopping $3K more than my 1991 Honda Accord with 207K miles on the clock.
