Z-680 5.1 question

question, my z-680 speakers have green, black, and yellow connections for the front, back and sub/center, if i just plug in the black and yellow, shouldnt i hear something from those respective speakers? i only hear music if the green cable is connected. i am using a turtle beach santa cruz and 5.1 is enabled in windows and in the tbsc control panel. can someone explain this to me? Thanks

Make sure your sound source is encoded in 5.1 also. If you are listening to a regular stereo CD without any surround sound enhancement or encoding then you won't hear any sound out of anything but front left and right.

You might try a DVD that is surround sound on your system then see if the other speakers work then.

interesting, but just from winamp alone, i can hear all 5 speakers with just the green connection, even the back and the center speakers, can just the green connection do that?
