The GTO2 has a R480 core GPU. A simple BIOS flash will unlock the 4 disabled pipelines. There is no unlocking of pipelines on the GTO.

I haven't moved my card to the main rig yet but here are some 3DM05 results, not too bad for a sempron. FEAR demo & HL2 have run really well too, I guess it is time to play games and enjoy this card. 😉

Congrats for the GTO2.

But what a crappy cooler!!! Do yourself a favor and buy an ATI Silencer. Runs cooler and quieter.

For the ones not being able to overclock, try the ATI silencer.

The cooler on these cards is actually really stout and pretty quiet. I'm going to try to improve on it by using AS5 or Ceramique and see how it does then.

Agreed. You can control the fan speed with the Sapphire Trixx software, and at ~50%, it runs around 60c load. Not a bad cooler, and it cools the ram too.

Just checked Newegg. I see GTO, but not GTO². Is there a difference?
