Yuck, why can't people just age gracefully?

I won't delve into this question too much, as you went off on a tirade the last time I called you out on a previous statement. It is true that some members here want to foster a sense of community and for posters to be held accountable for what they write. They are clearly in the minority, and hence a lot of the best people have already left here.

We make jokes about not taking it seriously and internet and blah blah blah, but any relatively sane poster will remember that there is a person behind every post. How you interact with people in "real life" is your own business, but IMO the posts here reflect greatly on those interactions. I know I learned a lot in my 13 years here, cynicism being a great skin thickener, and all.

Hmm well I can understand that.

Did anyone ever consider that maybe people are just ugly once you take away the make up, hair stylists and cinematography?

Shens. All those women had naturally silky smooth, soft focus, blemish-free skin, with nary a wrinkle to be found, and absolutely free of stray nipple hairs. TV and magazines are unfiltered reality. That's why they're so popular with the masses.

chloe moretz is aging pretty gracefully
🙄
Notice that they all, um, not black? 😉
Nope. The thread has Lil Kim. Token black sample: check!

Ironically, many look a lot better w/o any of that, even though they're hardly seen that way. But, they're not, "perfect," without all of that, which seems to be quite a problem. I would imagine many celebrities were impressionable and/or had self-esteem/body-image issues already, too.

Interestingly, it seems quite a lot of musicians age really well, but also don't go under the knife if they don't, generally. However, they probably live with thousandths of the amount of pressure on them to "fix" imperfections. Hollywood just seems crazy.

Most of those people would look at least decent if they would have not screwed with their lips. I really don't get why (female) people like to look like they just got punched in the face.

Yeah I agree, and who likes big v**** lips anyway?, as thats supposed to be the unconscious image...allegedly!
