Yuck...smoking is one thing... smelling like a 25 pack is another...

Just had a customer who smelled so strongly of cigarettes that I physically could not get very close to him. He handed me his laptop, needed a new power brick, and I opened it. MISTAKE!! The thing was yellow from tar / nicotine stains. A key was missing and there was ash stuck in the keys. This guy smelled like a smoke stack and I have a bit of a headache from just being around him, no joke. He was also missing some of his front teeth and the rest were brown as can be. Otherwise nice guy though.

wait, this guy was in richmond? impossible

Nice ending

Yeah, yet another downside to retail. I consistently dealt with customers who meet your description.

Where do you work? Do you see a lot of welfare people or something? I worked at 7-11 for 4 years and even there I only occasionally came across people like this. I certainly got them but not regularly. Maybe I was just in a good neighborhood.

I dont any more (college student :thumbsup🙂

I was at Staples in Daytona Beach. We DEFINITELY got quite a few heavy chain smokers every week.

Where i worked before that it wasn't a problem at all (super rich area in Kansas City)

I work at Home Depot near East LA. Definitely had some of the worst of the worst in the world go there.

i find people that whine about smoke smell / smokers to be 2394 times more annoying than smokers could ever be.

my quit is still going well :awe:

MD75, I think YMMV.

The most annoying are usually the Ex-smokers complaining about it as they fight off their jonesing for a smoke.

I had a guy come up to the window at work yesterday, and the window is all glass with just a tiny mouth hole to speak through. The smell of smoke coming off him was so strong, it make me feel ill, even with the majority of the space between us blocked by glass. Bleeeech.

They stench of smug in this thread is overpowering. Request that a mod move it to another forum that nobody ever visits so the rest of us can breathe.

Had a guy like that come into my store the other day. Smell lingered for quite a while.

PSA: If you REALLY want to piss your rental guy off, smoke like that in the car. Had one come back that had ash all over the seats. Thing just reeked. There's not enough Fabreez in the world that gets that smell out.
