just went to the local comp show here is socal and grabbed an A7V133 and 1gig tbird for $300. had em look thru their trays till they found an AXIA coded chip (same as the 1.2gig aparently). put it on the bench and closed the bridges and started to crank on it. right now it is humming along at 145x10 at 1.77v. blows my mind. i bought a $10 hsf that is big and put a 80mm case fan on it and it runs at 114F. hs is frigging hot to the touch - a bit of a change from the coppermine.

by same, u'r saying they're the same chip? Like theres no diff between a 1.2 AXIA and a 1.0 AXIA, just the writing on it?

btw, what sort of stability are you getting w/ it? When you hit 1.45, are you running any programs to see if its stable?

don't know. just know that most 1gig are AVxx not AXxx and most 1.2gig are AXxx. i think i have maxed this sucker out at 10x147 at 1.77v, at least w/ my sketchy cooling rig. goosing voltage don't help any more, and temps are in the 117f range. thing boots into windows as happy as a clam at 1550 so who knows what its limit is.

ps. prime95 for stability.

nice...i feel i got robbed on my 1.2 chip then :). Its AXIA 1.2, motherboard was DOA so i havent had time to check it...Now...if I can hit the extra 450mhz like you and get 1650 instead of your 1450, i'll be happy (but i doubt that'd happen)

Jaybert,
What's the deal on the AXxx stuff? I have an AXIA coded chip but what does it mean?

it means its hella good for overclocking. it has something to do w/ where it was manufactured and apparently those with AXIA are the best. (Should be able to hit 1.5 pretty easily)

OK. Thanks. I got it to 1.5 no problem posting before I loaded an OS. Haven't tried going past 1.4 yet. It's currently running 104f at default voltage with S@Home for a background.

Correction - since I loaded an OS (W98se).
