Windows update KB4100347 is a microcode update for intel CPUs to help deal with Spectre/Meltdown. Users reporting that it causes their system to revert to default clocks and is persistent through multiple reboots and BIOS setting changes. Perhaps only applies to Broadwell and newer.

Anyone install this update yet and have the same experience? It's waiting to be installed on my system but I'm holding off for now.

One problem is that there is more than one version of KB4100347...

I am having no problems with overclocking my Broadwell-E i7-6900K on my MSI X99A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM motherboard.
I have checked and update KB4100347 is installed.
I have even tried changing my overclock settings and everything is working fine.
Not sure if I am lucky or if it doesn't affect MSI motherboards.

How do you know there is more than 1 version of the update?

I have it installed on my Skylake-X system and I'm not seeing this behavior.
