You're supposed to use moisturizer when you hands are damp, not completely bone dry?

It's Feb 1.
It's cold, dry and my hands are chapped.

News radio said to use moisturizer immediately after you dry off you hands to lock in the moisture.

I've always waited a few min till my hands were bone dry before putting on moisturizer.
going to try this new way

News to me! 🙂

Some skin care products, such as moisturizers, work better when applied to damp skin as part of their function is to seal moisture in,” says Strachan. “When skin is already damp, it's hydrated. The moisturizer can then either provide more hydration or just seal it in.”

I just slather on some manly moisturizer like from Duluth trading company, let it set for a bit, then put more on to seal that in. I bet that works even better.

Farmers know what's up. used it on chapped sheep nipples, and myself, it's fantastic.

3 or 4 hours outside at 0 degrees plowing snow, feeding animals, etc... with some wind burn on your cheeks? this stuff will make it like new skin in one application.

The problem with cracking skin in the winter is letting your hands get completely dry after washing them, because then your body oils evaporate along with the water due to the dry air.

You use sheep nipple chap cream on your own nipples? 😱

Also consider that simply washing your hands strips oils off. Drying “enhances” that.

the vast majority of you need to drink more water.
You're trying to use pesticide on a flower garden when the soil is completely dry.

Humidifying your living space can make a big difference too.

Use baby oil instead of soap for hand washing. Works wonders for dry skin since it prevents washing away so much of the oils but still removes dirt and bacteria. Then apply Aquaphor to the dry areas and cover it with cotton gloves* while you sleep. Problem solved.

*Don't wash the gloves much, if ever, between sleeps. Helps when the gloves are their own source of Aquaphor.

Gnarly hands dude. I get dry skin(not this year cause it wasn't cold and didn't stop raining), but not like that.
