Mine runs hot as hell. I have a gigabyte z77x-ud3h and it heats up the room whereas my old p67 b3 sabertooth (that I broke when I was playing with it) did not.

I wish I hadn't bought the z77.

Is it normal for the z77 to heat up the room?

how are you measuring the temps?

I have a gigabyte Z77X UD5H, nothing seems too hot here.

EDIT just checked, my mobo has a different cooling setup, has heat pipe and much bigger heatsinks.

The max temperature for the PCH is 102C.

Alot of other chips gets just as hot, you just dont realize it.

I shut off all the case fans except for one slow rear fan.
Then I ran some hyper pi and 3 runs of furMark and pch went from 46c to 52c from HWiNFO32/64.
Now room temp is cool this morning at 64f.
My mb a extreme 4 temp was at 32c,my two ssds 22c and the pch is blocked by the viedo card and the pch is 46c idle and mid 50s load.
