According to bootvis 16.1 seconds

duron600@1020
256mb pc133
gf2 gts 32mb
SMC network card
Vortex2
WD 60GB 7200

<< note: the boot time shown on boot vis is INACCURATE, that time is way shorter than your actual boot time, if you dont believe me, time your boot process with a stop watch. The time shown on bootvice for my comp is 28sec, but realisitcally is a minute >>

I'm not sure when BootVis starts timing, but my stop watch from right when I pressed the power button to when the hourglass disappeared was around 28 seconds. It's fast enough for me, so I don't bother with this anymore.
BTW, the two network cards might be causing you the slowdown. Check out my tips on this page: http://www.geocities.com/btvillarin/Performance_XP.htm

I tried that BootVis utility to see if it could improve my 42secs but I still getting about 40secs.
It might be because the HD is using the onboard RAID slot so it has to load this first.

Anything under 50secs is plenty fast and beats a lot of other OS.

20-25 seconds.
My specs are 512 mb ram and a WD 7200 rpm on an XP1700
I only have a few things on start up like my Gygabyte utility , Norton2002 and a viewsonic app (hey its a week old)
I have to admit I love to bash Microsoft but Xp really is a great product

Darren

So you guys all beat me. After used bootvis, it takes 95 second to boot xp, from the time pressing the power button till it's usable.
Win2k takes 120 seconds to boot.

Duron 750Mhz, 1 network card, 384MB memory.

However, the only time I turning off computer is usually right before I go to bathroom. It doesn't matter that much. 🙂
