Better dual monitor options, like solid remembrance of how programs should open and which monitor (ex: window size, location, etc). Also, chidl windows should ALWAYS open on top of the parent, not on another monitor. Nothing worse then opening up photoshop or another program and the tool bars are spread all over the place accross both monitors.

Currently, it's the programs themselves that manage this on their own, so it's inconsistant. Would be nice if Windows managed it and there would be an extra option in the window title for configuring this.

Hell yes, task bar spanning all monitors, a proper span mode for 3d applications, return of theater mode for NV vid cards.

Another thing i would like is: like in ubuntu, when you dont have focus on a window you can still scroll without focus. Mouse over and scroll wheel, with no focus. Big plus in ubuntu.

I saw this and got confused, then realized it's always worked that way for me on Vista and W7 since I have the intellimouse drivers loaded...

I wasn't disagreeing it would be nice to be a native piece of functionality, just saying I forgot it wasnt due to the MS drivers...

better pre-installed games 😀
WTF?
Its an OS.

better games indeed, Skifree was almost reason enough alone to run the horrible POS Win 3.1 Pinball in Windows 95 was hella fun. XP brought uhhh I don't think anything new. Vista has Purble Place, which isn't bad but it's no Skifree or Pinball that's for sure.

1. Vector Graphics GUI
2. Normal style start menu option (like.. Windows 95/98 style) Give it back, you assholes!
3. Windows 2000 style search option.. gimme that back too!
4. Thinner borders in aeroglass mode
5. Take me instantly to adapters when I click on network - or give me an option.. and let me right-click to quickly change IP
6. Don't give me 'access denied' for anything when I'm logged in as administrator..
7. Put the fucking 'up a folder' arrow back into the buttons in windows explorer.. WTF.. Give it back. I demand it back.
8. Build shortcut keys into Windows 7 for changing the resolution
9. Let me have the start menu open directly to 'all programs'.. Seriously.. How the fuck is a menu that is constantly changing icons useful? I click start and I wanna see the same order of things..
10. Fix VPN authentication
11. Fix FTP authentication
12. Make 'task manager' the first thing to show up when I press ctrl alt del.. and why hide the rest of the desktop?
13. Take out the 'one-click' install in internet explorer.. where I might accidentally click the wrong thing and install spyware
14. When I right-click on the start button and click 'open in windows explorer', bring me to my fucking icons!
15. Let me run shadow copy on my workstations too.. (ie.. put it in windows 7 and not just windows server)
16. Let me get rid of all popup balloons once and for all
17. Get rid of DRM.. or I will stay on XP forever
18. Stop fucking making 'my music', 'my documents', 'my videos', and 'my pictures' folders when there is nothing in them and I put my stuff somewhere else.
19. Don't give me a goddamn flower icon
20. In Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > AutoPlay, give me a fucking option to 'turn off autoplay on everything' rather than making me click on everything in the list (and, turn off autoplay by default.. it's a security risk..)
21. Turn off 'homegroup' by default
22. Get rid of the different levels of Windows 7.. Make it all Ultimate and make it a standard
23. When I turn off sounds in my profile, it should turn off the damn bootup sound
24. I should be able to make the 'explorer' icon on the taskbar take me to 'my computer' by default

I was kind of hoping that you were going to say that you can install the intellimouse drivers anyway and get the functionality.

This is possibly the first OS since 95 and earlier that has no way to do Side bars. what? Why? I think its because microsoft wants to FORCE me to not ignore their crappy task bar. Give me my side bars PLEASE!

What are you talking about?

Also, to the people complaining about DRM - what are you trying to do that Windows 7 won't let you do it? I've seen this complaint a lot, but I haven't run into anything that I can't do in the 3 months I've been running Win7.

In a turn of awesome, Win7 won't install the older SecuRom drivers, saying they "are potentially harmful to your system".

I know there are tweaks to get the Recycle Bin icon off the desktop, but why does it have to be there anyway? I know the convenience of dragging files to the trash is nice, but if you want a clean desktop, why make it so difficult?
