How do you vote?

  • I’m a registered Dem and have always voted Dem.

  • I’m a registered Rep and have always voted Rep.

  • I’m a registered Dem and have voted Rep before.

  • I’m a registered Rep and have voted Dem before.

  • I’m an independent and have only voted Dem.

  • I’m an independent and have only voted Rep.

  • I’m an independent and have voted both Rep and Dem before.

  • I only vote for 3rd party.

  • I don’t vote because of the EC or (give reason)

  • This poll is lame and may god have mercy on the OPs soul.

Never have voted, probably never will :p

The statistical probability that my vote will ever have an impact on anything, is so miniscule it is realistically zero - then compared to the time involved in voting.

Especially while the EC is still around :)

We don't register in Alabama, and I've voted for both sides. More importantly I've voted third party and am likely to do so again. Won't always though, it really depends on the worth of the individuals.

Independent, mostly voted Dem. It's possible I've voted Rep before, probably in smaller local offices, but I can't specifically recall.

There was a time when I could have voted for a guy like McCain, but that was before he became the McCain that eventually ran for president (I likely would have voted for him in 2000 if it was McCain v Gore.)

was registered unaffiliated, but switched to Republican in 2008 to vote against Guilliani in the primaries (and haven't really seen a reason to switch back since NJ primaries haven't mattered since)

my voting history is mixed-ish.

2000: Bush
2004: Kerry
2008: Obama
2012: probably 3rd party or abstaining

I tend to vote (R) for down-ticket/local races.

While I consider myself independent of political parties, in my relatively short voting history I've only voted for Dems. In the few elections that I've participated it, there hasn't been a Rep or third party candidate that I agreed with more than whoever was on the Dem's ticket.

I only vote for a person in one of the two major parties if the opposition candidate is pure evil (ie voting for W's opposition in both elections), or if they miraculously are reasonable human beings (only examples I can think of are from small local elections, like my current state congressional rep). Otherwise I vote independent. The parties themselves are more dangerous and abusive than any individual candidate, and THAT's what needs to be defeated.

The statistically insignificant are probably a majority of this country. If they simply turned out to vote third party in protest they'd win the freaking election.

Its all rigged, they will get whoever they want in REGARDLESS OF WHO "WINS" IN THE POLLS!! (Voting is just a game for the sheep to make them think they have any kind of power)

You can say that all you want. But my actions are still independent of everyone else's, and the impact of my actions will always be statistically worthless.

I am somewhat surprized at the number of independents in the poll. I thought I was one of only a few in this forum.

I am fiscally progressive and morally conservative, yet I feel that my religious beliefs are my own and I do not believe in creating laws that are theocratic in nature. I will refuse to be a member of a curch that gets politically active. I like and enjoy my second amendment rights but I feel the NRA is strictly a profit-oriented organization and could care less about some damned "piece of paper" that gives me the priviledge of bearing arms. I champion the underdog and resist those that would claim dominance over my existence and lifestyle.

I vote for any politician that serves my best interests, political party be damned. Ergo, I've voted for politicians in various flavors, but seeing as if I'm in the middle class, I've had to vote more Dem than anything else as the Repub party doesn't seem to care for me and my interests as much as the Dem party does. As a result, I've voted Dem on the federal level and mixed on the state/municipal level.

Life is good.

None of the above. I'm registered with the Conservative party and have voted for Republicans, Democrats, and 3rd party which I probably will this time.
