I'm looking for the worst software that you just dread using. The worst of the worst. Maybe the thread will make other software look better by comparison. My list:

#1- Real Player
#2- Kodak Imaging Software
#3- Music Match
#4- Scott Studios-AXS
#5- Outlook Express

I have to use the bottom 3 daily. :shudder:

Nothing if you patch it regularly and use a virus checker. I use it to maintain several email accounts at once.

Well, of course it's subjective, but I really don't like OE. It's slow on the system here at work (it's not a killer system, but OE really shouldn't be too big), and I don't like graphical email programs. The speed is the big thing. It takes a long time (relative to other software) to load, to check the mail, to create a mail, anything involving opening new windows. I don't know why, since other things run pretty well on the system. It's a Duron 900.

It's not unusable, but I don't like it.

To each his own, but give me mutt anyday :p

Another vote for AOL and Yahoo! software, those spyware infecting POS'es. My sister does not get the message that Trillian is 10x better.

Does RealPlayer/RealOne Player ever crash on you ? No? Didn't think so.

Just because it may contain ads doesn't mean it's the WORST software. It means it needs funding. You want ad-free stuff, you pay for it, like almost anything else out there... but it's no reason to single Realxxxxx out.

If you think it has spyware, why isn't Kazaa on anyone's list ? Yeah, thought so.

Hmm, always loads lightning fast on both of my systems and one running at 850Mhz. I think it's a great email client as it allows you to have multiple accounts. The same goes for the newsreader as well. No good for multipart binaries (I use XNews for that), but I use it exclusively for text only newsgroups.

And I use a virus checker regardless of my email client anyway.
