Just because it may contain ads doesn't mean it's the WORST software. It means it needs funding. You want ad-free stuff, you pay for it, like almost anything else out there... but it's no reason to single Realxxxxx out.

If you think it has spyware, why isn't Kazaa on anyone's list ? Yeah, thought so.

Real simple. Kazaa is fine. Its the spyware. Theres obviously more then 5 pieces of spyware out there. So, we SHOULD say spyware sucks, not the software its piggy backed on.

I don't use Real Player anymore. I installed it once, didn't like it, uninstalled it. I don't like things deciding that they need to be the default player for "X". I just want to run it and have it play the file that I told it too. I don't need it putting itself in some .ini file that makes it load up everytime I reboot the computer.

I've used RP a lot and yes it has crashed or locked up. Also, what really urks me is that even if you make sure to take off the option of making RP the default player of all the multimedia stuff, it FSCKING DOES IT ANYWAY!!! I had to manually turn back everything to media player, and the files still had that gay ass icon attached to all my media files. :|:|

Now don't get me wrong, this is only an issue with Real one. The old G2 was fine as long as you used compact mode, but I still wouldn't use it unless I HAD to. Anything after G2 was just a pain in the ass.

I can agree with 4 of your 5 choices. However, #3 (NutScrape) has a great development arm: Mozilla and Phoenix that are very promising. Also, I don't get why someone was dissing Acrobat Reader - I find it very useful. However, once Microsoft puts the ability to read .PDF documents in their next software releases, the end of Acrobat Reader could be upon us.

Sorry i have no real problems with Netscape, i havent used it lately. Last time i used it (about 8 months ago) it loaded a slow and had too much junk with it. I've seen Phoenix in action and it looks pretty sweet though.

#1- Real Player
#2- Kodak Imaging Software
#3- Music Match
#4- Scott Studios-AXS
#5- Outlook Express

I have to use the bottom 3 daily. :shudder:
What's wrong with Music Match JukeBox? It works great for me. Better than winamp anyday. It plays, rips and burns better the EZCD creator.

Well, the worst I've used. I haven't used Kazaa or anything that installs spyware like that. Windows 95 was good in it's day. I liked it a bunch more than 3.11.

dude, windows 95 versions a and b SUCKED. I think even Bill gates would admit to that.... I tested it on like 4 systems, mine and my friends and we all had issues till C came out. Then Win98SE was a godsend :)

Try Kazaalite it is free of spyware. kazaalite.com hey, make a poll

I agree about RealPlayer One. Also:

EZ CD Creator (all versions). Almost every system I installed it on had problems with it

Gigastudio LE. I got this bundled with a soundcard. It required online registration and a CD key. Then I found out it had a disabled save feature and 30-day trial :Q
