What are you top five multi-player games?
Keep in mind that I'm not necessarily asking for the best of "all time". Nah... just name the ones you prefer at the present. It can be your all time favorites, but it's not an obligation, some times our tastes change over time of course and in a year from now your list might well be different. Don't name six or seven titles please, it can be one to four though, but no more than five. They can have single-player too, they don't have to be on-line only.
I thought I'd make this thread since I think I need to find more games to play on-line. I really like the ones I play myself, but some times I feel like I might be missing on a little jewel and instead of reading some generic "professional" reviews to find out more about those unknown games to me I thought I'd ask you guys your opinions. By the way, they can be old games too, I myself don't mind much about graphics, but as long as the on-line community for that game is still active that is, even if it's just "a small band" of players.
1) Team Fortress 2
Absolutely, it's my favorite, I never played a game on-line which was that addictive to me. It's both the most frustrating game I've ever played on-line and the very best one. It's both extremes at their best. I believe that the pros far outweighs the minuses.
2) Natural Selection
That's a Half-Life modification for those of you who never heard about that one, it's old, of course, but it's my second favorite without a doubt, I don't play it much lately, but it's still a nice game to play. I can't wait for NS2 though, procedural Karhaa infestation for the w33n.
3) Battlefield 2
Well, yes, DICE does it again with that one, fun game-play, thankfully only published by EA. There's also a nice modding community for it, with such mods as Forgotten Hope 2, one can't go wrong with BF2. And I believe that BF2 is still the best game to play on-line if you want vehicular combat, no others come even close to it.
4) Unreal Tournament 2004
For me, one word: Invasion. And actually decent vehicular combat for its time, and even today.
5) Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
Do I really need to say anything.
What about you? Name the ones that you keep coming back to, that are just very good for you, that meets all your tastes for gaming. I'm hoping to discover perhaps new titles to buy and try, of course to nourish my mere curiosity.
