Your Top 5 PC games of 2012

1. Borderlands 2
2. X-Com enemy unknown
3. Walking Dead
4. Mass Effect 3
5. Diablo 3

A game that came out in 2011 that I played last year that I really liked was Dead Rising Off the Record.

I liked more games that came out in 2011 than 2012, I thought last year was a little on the weak side. I actually played more sports games on my PS3 than anything else.

Last year's games were pretty much a disappointment to me. Borderlands was okay, but felt generic. Far Cry 3, the same. While I enjoyed them for a bit, I got bored with them rather quickly, and never bothered to finish them. So my list only has two entries, because if I don't finish a game, I can't call it a 'top' game.

FTL
X-Com

Only two titles really worth mentioning.

1) The Walking Dead
2) Borderlands 2
3) Tropico 4
4) Fallen Enchantress
5) Dishonored

There were a lot of good games this last year though.

ive only played 4 2012 games so far... MWO, Endless Space, FTL and Diablo 3

so i guess those are my top games, and in that order too.

1.) Battlefield 3
2.) Sleeping Dogs
3.) Borderlands 2
4.) Dishonored
5.) Batman AC
6.) Fary Cry 3
7.) Max Payne 3

Yep, when I look at the games I really liked from 2011 2012 just seems weak. I mean just look at some of these:

Batman: Arkham City, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Space Marine, Minecraft, The Witcher 2, Portal 2, Assassin's creed: brotherhood, Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2, etc....

I'm not sure which games are i my top 5 becauase there are a lot of them I thiink will be really really good but I haven't played yet (sleepign dogs, borederland 2, farcry 3...). Of the games I have played I would say:
xcom is definitely NOT in my top 5 (the maps were just kind of lame and the base portiono f the game was too simplistici - and I never played the original so I'm comparing the game to itself). I've only just begun masseffect 3 and dishonored (sales are great) and so far I think they are both top 5. FTL is fine but not really top 5.
-
Summary (for those who hate long text):
YES:
dishonored
mass effect 3
NO:
Xcom (which pisses me off because it could have been so freaking good with a different director)
MAYBE (haven't played)
borderlands 2
farcry
sleeping dogs
-
crappy game year but this year (2013) will be great!
original sin !!!!!!!

When I think about games that really had an impact and drove me to finish them, there is really only 1.

The Walking Dead

I've finished other games, but none left an impression on me like this game.

Battlefield 3
Dishonored
Borderlands 2
Guild Wars 2
Far Cry 3

Biggest failure of the year goes to Diablo 3, such a disaster. Honestly the biggest let down in the 20+ years I have played games, lol.

5 is tough.... As I split purchases this year with my XBOX
But...
Batman AC
Walking Dead
Guild Wars 2
Diablo 3
Borderlands 2.

Funny story, I went for the Midnight release of BL2. I actually HELD up the line cause when I got there (they were running an assembly line format)... WOAH... PC??? Jimmy, go to the back... Get a PC version...
I was, by far, the OLDEST guy there.... AND was getting nasty looks. Cuase Jimmy was the STAMPER of the receipt for validation. So the line STOPPED.

Dark Souls: PTDE was the only game that excited me this year that I can remember, which is funny because it's just a rerelease of a 2011 game.

Far Cry 3 - Really a step up from 2. They did a great job with it.

Dark Souls - Definately a love/hate thing but the combat feel SOOO good.

Dishonored - Short but sweet. Plus its nice something not to be a sequel.

Sniper Elite 2
Planet side 2
Batman AC

I can only list 3 cause those are the only 3 that held my interest for the whole game. Hard now-a-days to find a game you can go back to playing after you beat it anymore.

Because of this thread, it made me realize the only game I bought that came out in 2012 was Guild Wars 2. LOL. Am I getting old?

B:AC was released Nov 2011.

Crusader Kings 2
PlanetSide 2
Torchlight 2
Legend of Grimrock
Diablo 3

Nah, just more picky. These five games are the only 2012 releases I bought. Though D3 is the only one I paid a full price to play.

This! years ago when D3 was announce, I was super excited. Then the colorful game play videos came out and I thought "consolitus", then I tried that weekend beta....gave up after 10 minutes. Then I had a sad moment .
