Your thoughts on the Asus K8v-X

My friend is on a tight budget and he was looking at the asus K8v-x for the motherboard and the Amd 64 3000+ as his processor. I was just wondering if anyone has used this board and if they would recommend it or something else.

i have the K8V SE deluxe (no wireless). Love mine, but its not an overclocker board since it doesnt offer the proper pci/agp dividers. biggest complaitn ive heard, which shouldnt even be a complaint, is that it has way too many addons (sata raid, pata raid, sound, etc). What i dont use i just disable.

my gripe is that for my case the ide headers are too far up on the board. the HDD cage on my case is right on top of it and it makes cable management tough...but it wouldnt have kept me from buying it.

edit: if you want to OC, you might want to look into nforce3 boards that support S754
