Your thoughts on PCProfiles.com

I'm trying to get some input on a site I'm developing over at http://www.pcprofiles.com

It allows people to create a profile of their PC, listing out their various specs, upload pictures, along with include other general computer background info.

Each profile has a short url that can be included in forum sigs, for example. Here's a profile a user has created to illustrate what I'm talking about:

What do you guys think? My site is new and I'm merely looking for input on how to improve it. I hope this message is received that way and not as an advertising attempt.

looks good but I am not going to register someone else had something a little like this @machines or something he started a topic on it and everyone gave him links to pictures and he posted them on the site they didn't really have info on them like this but you could look up peoples rigs.

plus I already got the one setup in my sig

Hmm.. though not a new concept, it's always good to have alternative place to list your rigs. Some of the Distributed Computing folks might be interested in this - I'll mention it to some of them.

This seems like a nice site. One addition that I'd find beneficial personally would be the ability to list more than one system with a profile.

Also, I think it'd be cool if you could assign rating system for members to rate other people's system/profiles...
Like you can view the votes like 1-5stars of # votes.. So, later when you have a lot more profiles, people can view through the profiles by rating rank or so...

That's a good one Iron Addict; I'll add it on to the list. It shouldn't be too hard to add a field for ratings .

I'm actually working on some code to allow members to leave comments on other's profiles - should be ready this weekend. Also buddy lists/groups are in the works, too.

registerd. but i can't say my system is anything to be proud of. i think i might build a Socket 939 system with the x2 3800 later when it becomes cheap. i am slow to upgrade.

Just an update everyone.

You can now rate the profiles. You can only rate each profile once and you must be logged in to do so.

For each profile there should be a link in the upper right corner to Rate it.

Let me know if it gives you any problems.

BREATHE MAN BREATHE! In other words, there oughta be all sorts of punctuation in there.

This seems like a direct competitor for the AT Rigs pages. Obviously more full-featured but still competing.

I like PCProfiles, over 200 views on mine now Can't see myself using the forum but otherwise I really like it.
