Hi,

Calling for anybody with some extra firepower available to give us a hand in DF. Rechenkraft.net are very close to passing us, and that'd be a terrible way to start XMas (they're set to pass us either on the 24th or 25th).

So please, lend a fold or two this holiday season.

Owch. That's some serious firepower that they're pulling out. 6M per hour would take 520 Athlon XP 1600s folding away, doing nothing else.

We passed 'em back (thanks FoBoT) but it's only temporary.

We've staved them off for another day.

Gonna be troublesome the next few days. They probably got a very large corp farm to use over the holidays.

I was up past 1 AM (my time) trying to convince one of my friends with a 1.8 GHz CPU and 768 MB of RAM to run DF under my name for the team. He finally gave in. 😎 I'll try to borg another system today.

i had some issues after the thanksgiving run that i am still working through or else i would try to counter that with our own after Christmas dump
i have been working on it, but it is taking some extra time/effort :/

also, if you read the Rechenkraft net forum, the dump by sgarbe appears to be from a single machine, over 3300 files he uploaded (10,000 structures each) . even on a fast boxen that would be about two weeks of buildup, so perhaps he will only be able to do that again right before/after the protein change on jan 7th (my estimate of when it will occur)

woo hoo.... This is when it gets FUN!

WE NEED YA TA......... all spare boxes will be met with hugs and wet kisses!

crunch, crunch, crunch........

😀

Maybe when those COWS are belly-up, we can get a couple of the ranch hands to help us stave off the rechenkraft, net hoard!

I'm runnig about 30 machines from 1.0 to 2.66 GHz (PIII or PIV) - all machines run in a small network not connected to the internet - each client starts at a different position ( the first at 0 struktures, the second at 3 Mio. Structures ...) - when I want to upload then I stop all clients and collect the results with a VB-script -then burn on CD ...
