Your take on my job interview...

Hi all,

I recently had a job interview at a big financial firm... I was supposed to meet with two people, the VP (who would be my boss) and a technical guy who was evaluating my knowledge in the area (Windows Systems Admin). I talked with them for a while, answered questions about myself, about technical stuff, and I felt I did really good.

The VP then bought in HIS boss, another VP, who spoke to me again at some length about my personality, my strengths, weaknesses. Interview finally concludes and VP #1 walks me out. He says to me, "I wouldn't have bought my boss in unless I thought you were doing well." I thanked him for his time, and left.

Next day, they asked me for several references and I gave those to him. He has already started calling them. I talked with my old boss (who was one of my references) and he seems confident that I'm getting the job. Additionally, the other candidate they were reviewing didn't meet their needs and is no longer being considered.

Now I'm not trying to get overexcited, but what do you guys think? Just curious to get an "out of the box" picture.

Any other details I might be missing, just ask.

Thanks!

Sounds good to me, I have 1 interview, possibly 2 in the next couple months. It's sort of exciting to be moving up in the world.

Well, I hear those Russian mail-order brides can get a little pushy sometimes.

Just waiting on the offer letter to make it official :)

Congrats!

In all my recent jobs, once they started checking my references, that meant I was going to get an offer.

Dont forget to yell: Show me the money! before you open the offer letter :D:D

I was going to wait for him to say "Deal, or NO deal?"

Then I'll push the buzzer!

positive so far, but don't let it bog you down. Keep a solid head on your shoulders and never let it affect you until the offer arrives.

I doubt you'll get it. Here's why. When you gave him your references, you should have... I'm just messing. Sounds like you got it.

Are you just posting to show off? I mean what is the debate here? Your chances are obviously very good. While I have your attention, I need your take on my lunch experience:

I went to a restaurant and ordered some food. I paid with a credit card and signed my name on the slip, writing in the total. Do you think my credit card statement will reflect that amount or will it be more?

I am very confused about this and hope you all can help!
