Your take on CoD4

Despite the constant bashing that this game is receiving, I would have to say that this game is damn good. I think most people don't understand that it is a demo and that the graphics options are locked at Medium.

Anyways, lets hear some feedback on the demo. Give your impression about Veteran, the weapons, the AI, or even how many times you flash-banged your own allies because you are used to tossing Smoke. It took me about six times of flashing my allies before I got the hang of playing CoD without smoke.

When you shoot a random guy and another one takes his place in the same position 100000000000000000 times is when I decide the game is no good.

The demo was certainly fun enough for me to be interested in the final product. I'll keep an eye out for reviews before buying, but I enjoyed the bit of what the demo offered.

Way too console kiddie for me. running around with 6 or 7 team members and you have to do all the bitch work.

Also you take a few shots, the screen goes red.. all you do is hide and you are back to full health? What is that supposed to be? No child left behind?

One beef I do have, is them calling Marines, "soldiers". We are NOT soldiers, thats the army. In their trailer, it calls them soldiers, when the game clearly uses Marines.

You're doing as much as anyone else, and if you played on Veteran, you'd realize its pretty intense.


I found the demo fun, will probably be picking this up for X-mas.

I loved the demo. What bad things have people been saying about it? As for there being 100,000 terrorists to replace each one you kill - it's been like that with every single CoD game. Nazis just kept on coming til you completed your objective, then they came from somewhere else.

I really like it. Finally a top-tier modern warfare game with a real single player campaign. This will be nice compliment to WiC.

GameFAQs and GameSpot are both forums where the ignorant bashing outweighs the intelligent posts.

One of them on the GameFAQs boards a while back was classic: (I don't remember the names, but it doesn't really matter and yes the horrendous grammar is intentional)

As you can clearly see, the bashing arguments are so well-formed that it makes your brain hurt. I apologize to the billions of your brain cells that I most likely just sizzled with those five - six lines of text.

Despite the reviews, I feel that the game could use a bit more work on the AI's involvement. Personally, I am tired of being the "lone hero" in every CoD game. It's never "You five men take that side over there and clear out that building." No, it usually comes out like this: "Johnson/Vasili/Taylor/(you), flank the enemy and clear out that entire building full of about 35 krouts. We will send two incompetent allies with you just so can see what will happen if you fail this task as it is obvious they won't even survive for three seconds."

During the demo, I found more of my allies getting comfortable behind solid (not a factor anymore since bullets travel through walls) cover rather than trying to help. They always wait for me (a lowly recruit) to run into the fray of battle before anyone will move.

It would be nice if the objectives were a bit more team-oriented. Even something like Half-Life 2 where Alyx is with you all the time, opens doors for you, and is actually an ok shot.

The fact is, they're wrong. All I did was point it out. I dont recall a "war movie" ever calling a bunch of Marines, "soldiers".

I want the option to play solo, no team mates.
Every game I play, be it cod or moh the damn team always jumps in front of my shots or gets in my way. They really don't do anything constructive.

Ackmed: I never caught that, although I do believe it, like seeing "US Marines" inside blackhawks, although it is Force Recon, so it is quite possible the Army Blackhawks would do a Co-Op mission with them.

(Blackhawks are more streamlined than CH-46s, and you can do more efficient fast-roping) So I don't know the reasoning. Rather odd the Military Adviser who was a Spec Ops didn't tell them. He is kind of old--maybe he's growing senile.
