Your state's CCW and license reciprocity

JDMnAR1

Lifer
I know from previous gun threads that we have several CCW holders from various states across the country. Any time I get ready to travel out of state, I check for updates to Arkansas' license reciprocity to see if anything has changed. When I fist got my permit I think the list was about eight or so states that honored the AR CCW permit. Now, that list is up to 29. That got me wondering as to which state is the most liberal in terms of honoring permits from other states. So, if you have a permit (and feel like humoring me) post what state your permit is isued by and how many states your state has reciprocal agreements with.

And please - keep the mindless "why do you think you need to carry a gun" posts to yourselves. This thread isn't for you, but you can feel free to start your own.

i posted a link to a web site that lists all states CCW in another thread a while back, i'll see if i can find it

looking at the reverse lookup table, it appears montana and texas accept the most other states CCW's

Except for all the states that accept all permits which Montana and Texas do not.

The following states honor my WA CPL:
-Montana
-Idaho
-Utah
-Arizona
-Alaska
-South Dakota
-Oklahoma
-Texas
-Missouri
-Louisiana
-Mississippi
-Tennessee
-Kentucky
-Indiana
-Ohio
-North Carolina
-Virginia
-Vermont
-Michigan (only honors WA permits if the permit holder is also a WA resident)

VA here..

it's probably easier to just go to the links provided by the others instead of me typing up all the states. Luckily all the surrounding states to me honor my permit except for shitty MD and DC.

The Utah state CCW permit is recognized by more states than any other. It also fully recognizes ANY state's CCW permit. If you decide to get ONE permit, make it a Utah one. Easy to get, easier to renew. Good for 5 years.

QFT, i was going to post this is something you can just look up...many of the ccw forums have links to the laws and loopholes and the like.

None at all here in Illinois. 🙁

The funny thing is in retaliation no one honors IL's permits 🙂

IL has no CC permits. Unless you are talking about the FOID card...which is nothing like a CC license.

No I understand. If IL came out with a CC permit tomorrow, I am willing to bet no state would honor it until IL released their restrictions.

Lack of CCW in IL has not helped their crime rates.

in this we are in agreement.

Daley needs to go before any serious attempt is made in IL.
