We were informed that there won't be any pay raises this year. Normally we get increases at the end of April.
I'm not going to mention that to my wife, and I can guarantee she'll never ask if I got a raise and/or how much it was. She has no interest in what I make or if I get a raise or a bonus. The bills get paid, we put some into savings, so she doesn't think about money. If I asked her what she thinks I make, she would probably be off anywhere from -50% to +200% though I have told her. It's just not the kind of thing she remembers.
Common or unusual?
