We were informed that there won't be any pay raises this year. Normally we get increases at the end of April.

I'm not going to mention that to my wife, and I can guarantee she'll never ask if I got a raise and/or how much it was. She has no interest in what I make or if I get a raise or a bonus. The bills get paid, we put some into savings, so she doesn't think about money. If I asked her what she thinks I make, she would probably be off anywhere from -50% to +200% though I have told her. It's just not the kind of thing she remembers.

Common or unusual?

You think she doesn't care, but she does. All women care about how much money you make.

I disagree, but it's probably around 99%

I could probably guesstimate what my husband makes in a year, give or take $35k. (He's got his own business and it's project based, so income varies based on projects.) But I'm not especially interested as long as we pay our baseline bills, which we can do on my salary.

I don't think he's hiding it from her, just sounds like she doesn't care so there's really no point in bringing it up.

seeing as how she's a stay at home mom, i'd say she's very interested in what I make...

Guess that wasn't clear. I've told her what I make every time I get a raise or promotion. She congratulates me, and promptly forgets.

My wife's not even interested in what she makes except for using it as a yardstick to measure her performance against her coworkers.

I bet if I asked her what the name of our primary bank was she'd have to think about it and if she didn't have a debit card in her pocket with the bank's name on it she'd have no chance.

btw-she makes 3 times what I make.
