I'm a big fan of the old baseball cap and hoodie myself. Unless it's really windy, then I resort to the everfaithful touque. Brrr.

LOL, I know them as wool knit caps:laugh: That's what I wear when it gets real cold here in N.E.

I put on a knit cap when shovelling/snowblowing, other than that I try not to stay outdoors long enough in the winter that I need anything.

a beanie or torque as you are all calling them. They keep the head warm enough...that or a hood and some side ear muffs.

The beania does screw with my hair tho, so any attempt at coming inside from the cold and trying to look good is foiled. I have long hair and as soon as I pull it off my hair is going in every direction possible.

Well back in the day, when it was really cold, (-40 F or C, your choice with a wind chill of -90F), I used to wear a Balaclava with a knit hat over it plus a thinsulate hood. I looked like the kid from Christmas Story but it was warm enough to go walking across frozen lakes. Now I've grown older and wiser so yesterday I went hiking in the desert in shorts and a hat to keep the hot sun off my head.
