At this point, the Philadelphia Phillies remain undefeated and unscored upon for the entire 2011 season!

Developing trend? Who am I to say!

The only thing good about the Phillies is that Halladay is doing wonders for my fantasy team.

The Braves and Phillies games will be some of the best baseball to watch this season. Go Braves!

Confidence is fine, and to be expected with that staff, but just hope they and your phans don't go all south beach and pronounce yourself WS Champs already.

That said, after watching Cliff Lee's all too short stint in Seattle, he became one of my all time favorites. His work ethic, attitude, and ability are amazing. And I attended every one of Randy Johnson's home games in 96, and have watched plenty of Felix Hernandez' performances, and Lee is right there IMO.

M's still don't have their first game for another 8 hours, but am enjoying the HOU-PHI game on ESPN right now.

lol @ Fransisco dropping the ball, but it sure looks windy too.

At this point the Phillies are on pace to go 0-0-162 and will neither score nor allow a single run over the entire season. Apparently they think they're playing soccer.

At this point I'm about to break my fist punching a wall because they won't allow "free" radio broadcasts of the game online and where I work there's no way I'll get a strong enough AM signal even if I had a radio that did AM.

Wow, our bullpen can't even handle the bottom of the Astro line-up, what an F'ing disgrace I don't care how many aces we have.

It's like watching the Giants/Phillies all over again. Philly is getting down right out played.

When do you think Utley will be back for you guys? Seems like scoring runs could be a major problem over the length of the season, which can stress your pitching staff of course.

myers is a 6 inning pitcher. he can go 6 innings every single game but not much more than that. i guess the BP is terrible so no real sense in yanking him on the first day of the season?

No one really knows, Brad Lidge will probably be back before Utley at this rate and it's not the sunniest of dispositions for him as it is. Since he's not getting surgery it's just a matter of how well his knee feels from day to day, once he says he can play through the pain and they see it's not affecting his movement they may bring him back, but with his history of not revealing injuries they'll probably play it slow unless things start falling apart fast, which *shouldn't* happen with a rotation full of streak-stoppers.

Not to worry. I'm a fan, not a fanboi, and I'm well aware that the Phillies have significant holes in offense, defense, relief pitching and the crucial but often overlooked vegan stadium vending choices. :p

Windy or no, he's also a "hands of stone" defender, kind of the anti Jason Werth.

Hey, in all seriousness, the Phillies season could go way south in a heartbeat. Baseball is one of the less predictable sports to forecast, imho.

162 games is a death march of a season, and every flaw in every player or team will be exposed.

Also subpar defense, which we have generally not been used to. :(
