Your oppinions on cars? (Nissan)

Ok it's time I sell my 94 nissan pickup and get a car for numerous reasons. This truck has been extremely reliable and great to drive and all around fun. I'm looking at Nissans but any car will do for under 10k. I've been looking at 200SX (97-98) and I love the looks of it, I think it looks sweet. Anybody know anything more about this car? I want a car with some balls (this is a must) Doesn't have to be super fast, but I want to feel some power. Anybody know what kind of power the 200SX has or any other cars I should be looking into?

If you want a 200ZX try to get the SE-R version, it has the SR20DE engine, which is an amazing four-banger. It has great torque and a great powerband to match. Plus there a WHOLE lot of mods for it. A SR20DE on stock internals with boost can take up to 400hp!

I however would suggest that you buy a '94 240SX that has the KA24DE engine, a 2.4L 4-cyl. Its 155hp and about the same in torque. Its a torquey engine and probably powered your older Nissan truck. However, once you buy that car, throw the engine out and replace it with a SR20DET (its a turbocharged SR20DE). It'll bolt right into the 240SX. After all these are the engines that power the Japanese spec 240SX (called the Sivlia over there).

You could be pushing ~250hp of reliable power to the rear wheels.

NOTE: If you don't plan on modding, the KA24DE is a good enough engine to provide ample thrust.

I've never really worked on modding any cars before, allthough I do know quite a bit about cars and would love to learn.

How much would it cost to replace the engine with a SR20DET?

Good luck finding any SE-R. I only saw one on my used Nissan lot in six months or so. 240's are fairly rare too. Try an Altima, especially with a 5 speed. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised. Elsewise, grab yourself a Maxima.

Well the problem with maximas is I could get a 98 (around) 200sx for the price of like a 94 maxima. It has to be under 10k, and has to be manual.

Just looking I found a few 200sx's.

SE-R has wide tires, firmer suspension, and most importantly, a 2 liter DOHC 140 HP engine, rather than a 1.6 L, 116 HP engine.

If you can find ?em, go for it! They're not bad for power or handling. I'd personally prefer a Civic EX, but I'm a confrmed Honda junkie. (I've had 5 Hondas.)

The used lot at my dealership sucked ass anyway, so I might not know what I?m talking about when I said they're hard to find. It was the stinking used car manager that fired me too! Go figure. . .

Cool, the only reason I will get one is if it has some balls. I need power, and if I can find one that I like and it'll be worth modding i'll go for it.
