No. You can't 'fabricate them.' But you can understand the principles behind the analog amplifier and the correct stages and frequency responses to handle the analog signal; you can understand the transforms required to move them into the frequency domain and the math required to do so; you can understand the principles behind the signal conversion into digital and the sampling requirements to get a good signal; and then you could understand the architecture required to move the new signal within a digital system and get it into a form where it could be processed and analyzed for whatever you are looking to do with it.
According to your example, you couldn't 'fabricate' an 8088 or whatever you said in your original post. You don't 'fabricate' things on a single-unit scale.
