more than the fake computer nerds, I love the people (usually immature obnoxious girls) that ask me if i can "hack" their boyfriend's hotmail account because they want to see who he's talking to. The conversations go something like this:

girl: hi, do u kno how 2 hack? i ned u 2 go in my bfs hotmail cuz i think hes cheating on me. u cn do that rite???????
me: no.
girl: cmon i know u can do it why r u so mean?????????
me: why don't you go do something useful, like make me a sandwich?

heh. My sister-in-law was dating a guy who claimed to have a degree in CS even though he was working in construction. Well my in-laws had a problem with the computer running really slow.

Well we stooped over and they were there. I turned on the computer to see why it was so slow (P2 333 with 64m/ram, on-board video Running win98) Figured the HD was full or to many BS stuff installed. But it was rather clean. Well this guy comes over and looks over my should and looks at the screen. he says or that is why its running slow they have all those programs open! (it was just at the desktop. they had a bunch of icons on it). heh i laughed and asked him what he was talking about. he got all huffy and pointed at them and said those are open programs thats why it is so slow.

After laughing for a few minutes. i asked him if he was joking or just dumb.

well we argued and he left the house mad (which is OK. nobody really liked him). Oh the only thing that was wrong with the computer is one of the kids set it to really high resolution with high colors. the v-card just sucked and could not handle it.

This is our world now. The world of the electron and the switch; the beauty of the baud. We exist without nationality, skin color, or religious bias. You wage wars, murder, cheat, lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals. Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto.

They do exist unfortunately, I think when I was in HS there were a few kids like that, some either knew they were dumb and didn't really boast about thier knowledge and some were like I can hack I can hack! See look.. 10 minutes later the kid gives up, "its just a stupid computer who cares". "your all stupid. (Runs off). Sadly enough since where I lived has a population of real computer nerds <20 even the school tech was just as dumb as the rest of the kids (not surprised either). Which is where I thought of the http://forums.anandtech.com/me...0417&enterthread=y thread because even back in highschool I could think of a smart russian programmer/power user. He was there temporarily though so I guess the school population of knowledge went down to 1 (me) and I'm not even a programmer! It was the suburbs and the school's population was 1800 students, pretty sad to me. Out of all the kids, I know probably 500 Really well and the rest either semi well or not at all.
