What is your OC'd CPU running at?

What is the max "comfortable" temp that you would let your PIII/4 or Classic/Duron/T'Bird operate at?

I have a T'Bird 800@1000, that's why I'm asking. I'm curious to find the comfort zone and what I should be cutting off at......
 
How in the heck are you cruising that low on the temp? I'm pushing 41 under full load, that's with artic silver, CpuIdle, and a Kaine HedgeHog with a Delta????
 
Good, I was going to ask this question myself,

my un-overclocked Tbird 900 with SuperOrb seems cool to the touch, but my motherboard (Asus A7V) registers the temp at around 48C with the side off under full load. I even used Arctic Silver, but I think I may have done something wrong, given the temp. Seems everyone else around here gets some real nice temps.

I would say anything under 55C would be acceptable. However, individual readings may vary.

I think he's running with an earlier version of the BIOS, the reading is going to be lower. The new versions of the BIOS add on several degrees so that there will be a more "accurate" reading. Of course thermistor placement will also affect the readings.

Your readings seem reasonable. Your heatsink being cool just means that your fans are doing a good job drawing heat away from the heatsink. The temp is 48 because the HSF probably *could* do a better job with the heat transfer. My Alpha is cool to the touch, but if I cup my hand over the 38cfm fan, I can feel that its hot air blowing out, which would be a good thing.
 
There is no way to accurately, or even remotely accurately compare socket A temps. Take them as relative readings if you hvae an updated BIOS, and don't bother asking others. As long as the reading is reasonable for your heatsink(for a 1ghz cpu, about 50-55C with a high-end heatsink), then you shouldn't worry.

As for Jdaves chip, unless he's got an ambient case temp(which is higher than ambient room temp) of 15C, he isn't running at 35C.

Yeah, I was about to go around saying that I had my CPU running at 38C full load. Then I upgraded the BIOS and the temp went up, as expected. I know it wasn't really running hotter, but I know that the old temp was bull anyway.
 
Duron 600@1GHz idle 35c full load 41 c. One thing I would like to metion here is I am running a KT7 and the temp gauge under cpu will give different reading depending how close to cpu it is. when board was new temp gauge was allmost touching cpu and of course would give a higher temp.

Exactly the reason to not use socket A mb's for heatsink comparison, and for people to not compare temps with other Socket A users.

When i installed my Duron i knew i was going to over clock so i made sure the probe on the KT7 was touching(or seemed to be) the chip, with it clocked to 900mz im at 52-54, at load and have had no broblems with lock up or anything.
