Try ES File Explorer or Solid File Explorer.
Thanks! I had it installed, logged in and browsing my tunes in no time at all.
I can push files to the phone from my computer as well, will be trying that next.
I just started messing with dropbox a while ago, but i like this as well. Now if I can get an ssh client going, I'll be golden.
EDIT: I had no idea, started searching the play store and ....wow. This will kill a few days, getting my phone set up.

hmmm.. how about a "must have apps" for 2012? :p

by far my favorite:
-- AirDroid --
the ability to log into your phone (via wifi) from a browser
what can you do with this, you say?
upload/download files/pictures/movies/songs/etc..
install apps through d/led apk's
best feature? you can use it to text people from your phone!
- so instead of being at work and having to lift your hands off the keyboard,
you can make it look like you're working-ish and just create/respond to texts right from your browser :p

Holy crap! That is amazing too :)

One app I could recommend: IMO Messenger.

It allows you to sign into 11 social network and instant messaging services at once, which can save space, especially helpful if you're on an older Android device (like me lol)

I started using AnyDo for a simple task manager, but it also adds a nice UI element when you miss a call. It adds a row of icons on the bottom of your screen which are there so you can schedule a reminder to call back, but IMO this is a nicer way of showing missed calls vs. a standard notification. Even if I don't utilize it for its primary purpose as a task manager, I'll probably always have it installed from now on for the missed call notifications.
