not neccessarily, i don't have a roommate, unless you count my gf...and that doesnt make my rent any cheaper...you just have to live in a state where 50% of people live below the poverty line...such as oklahoma

On a side note, I used 4,500 gallons of water and only paid $35 last month. That includes a 3,000 gallons to fill up our pool to make up for what was lost over the winter.

my breakdown:

My rent is $550, was $500...however the guy is selling the property so that is the bite...typically I'd be paying $850 to 1200 and this is a small place, but I can walk to entertainment and the beach in less than 15 mins...that beach being the Palm Beaches....this one is Manalapan/Ritz Carlton.

my electric is $100-150

Laundry is $60ish

Gas is $75

car $263 (1998 240sx SE I paid $8800 for last year thinking it was going to be $12k)

school loans $220 ($32k in 1999)

Credit (originally $32k, now $7k with about 500-1k of that being my monthly) $1-2K per month payment, min would be <$400.

she just doesn't want a better job her but I digress.
