Your history with computers.

I was first exposed to computers in 1976. School had teletypes that connect to PDP11-70 via dedicated phone line.

The first 'personal' computer I got to see was about the same time. A guy down the street built an S-100 system from a kit. You know those blazingly fast 1Mhz systems with 2-4K of RAM.

I got to play with all kinds of machines during my 9+ year college career.

Finally in 1990 I got my first PC of my own. A used Epson Equity II+. I think it had a NEC V30 processor, the one that could run in either 8086 or Z80 compatible modes, runnning at 8Mhz. It had 640K of RAM and a 'huge' 20MB hard drive. The first addition I made was a 3.5" 720K floppy. There was no room in the case so it was duct taped to the side.

About 2 years later I got a 40Mhz 486 compatible machine. It had 8M RAM and a 270MB hard drive. A year later I was running a 100Mhz box with twice the RAM and and hard drive space.

Ah the good old days! 😉
