Are you Asian? A lot of first-generation Asians are much taller than their parents, possibly because their parents didn't have a big supply of calcium growing up (ie. the western world's high milk consumption).

Nope, mostly German. My mom's mother was about 4'11", but my grandfather is about 6'0". I guess the gene that was repressed in my mom was expressed in me

none of my immediate family is over 5 ft 5 inches

Shorter than dad by 3 inches. Dunno how but neither of my brothers are very tall either. Well I'm 5,11 and my older is 5,9 and younger about 6,1 and my dad is 6,2. I have a tall mom for a woman.

I was really really really short up until around 9th grade (4' 10"ish), they put me on growth hormone for a while (a nightly injection, it didn't really hurt though) and now by the beginning of my senior year im 6' 0". A bit taller than I was expecting... My dad is 5'10" and my mom is 5"3"-5'4".

Lucky bastard. I wish I was put on growth hormones. I'm 5'4.
