Ehhh... might as well list which composer makes best game music. All those who listed Homeworld - that song is a choral version of a classic piece by Samuel Barber, also widely used in a bunch of movies.

Bill Brown made some pretty good music for C&C Generals and a bunch of Rainbow Six games.

Harry Gregson-Williams made some great scores for MGS2.

Of all the games I've ever played my vote would be for HOMEWORLD.

I still have the audio CD (of the in-game music) that came with the game I bought so many years ago.

Ninja Gaiden 2
Vid has someone doing a speed run of the game while audio plays a playlist of all the best tracks in the game. Pure awsome.

Glad there is at least a Gaiden mention here, but I am unequivocally voting for the music in the original NES Ninja Gaiden. How he sqeezed this masterpiece out with 8-bits is stunning.

I thought the music in KOTOR 1 was outstanding, especially during the intro scene where the ship is blown up and in the climatic battle against Darth Malak and when the Ebon Hawk escapes at the end.

Damn, I may have to play this game again.

Dragon Age Origins has two awesome songs:
"Dragon Age: Origins" and "I am the one (High Fantasy Version)", is how they are listed on Itunes.

Other songs sound good in game but are somewhat not as good sounding out of game, lol.
