Well, what are they? I've heard so much ska that was so bad it made me feel sick. I want some better ska. There is some good stuff by Reel Big Fish (Take On Me, Beer, etc), but what else? What are your suggestions?
Thanks alot sammy. Now I got that friggin song in my head.
Anyway, I'm not into ska, but I like ska-core (real ska is basically reggae with horns). I used to be into the Bosstones pretty hard and have been to about 6 of their shows.
Favorite ska core would be either "Sound System" by Operation Ivy or "365 days" by the Bosstones
Not really too familiar with ska but that old popular Mighty Mighty Bosstones song. If it's ska I think the title was Impression That I Get or something.
My all time favorite ska group is the Supertones (or OC Supertones).....most likely they'll be mislabelled in the record store as a Christian Contemporary or even Gospel - damn music stores lump all Christian music into one tiny section. Definitely check them out. Another great group is The W's. My second favorite.
Less than Jake rules... any song by them is good. But they are more Punk than Ska...
Toasters and the Pie Tasters are a great Ska bands (I love the song 'out all night' by pie tasters... the line 'If you want to keep your place you better get down on your knees' is blurted out everytime it comes on).
Bosstones used to be good, back in the days prior to Impression.
Anyway "Doomsday" by Mephiskapheles has always been one of my favorite ska songs.
