Psalm 82:6 (King James Version)
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Luke 17:21 (KJV)
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
(that calls each of us to deepest meditation)

The Gospel of Thomas (Nag Hammadi Library)
(3)Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

and (as brought to my attention by Joseph Campbell's writings):

(113) His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?"
<Jesus said,> "It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying 'here it is' or 'there it is.' Rather, the kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it."

Exodus 21:17 - And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

Let's us pray to our kind and loving God.

Changed around Psalm 23 (?) a little eh? 😛

Not the bible, it's from a much better writer: Thomas Jefferson
Your trolling is the stuff of legend. Bravo!

Yep, anyone who doesn't believe in your fairy tales is a troll. The sad part is that I'm 100% sure that you truly believe that.

Gaghalfrunt that is not the point of this thread, kindly stfu and take your trolling elsewhere.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son; that whomever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Deuteronomy 28:53 -- "And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee." 😀

[Ezekiel 25:17 among others]
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee"....Jules
Actual passage is:
"I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them."

My favorites BTW are the entire chapters of Matthew 5 (Beatitudes), Matthew 6, and Matthew 7, plus Matthew 22:34-40 (Greatest Commandment).

I really don't care what the hate-filled trolls say, I'm an agnostic, and I think Jesus was the greatest teacher who ever lived. Too bad about the religion founded in his name...

Suffer, little children.

That's from the KJV, Matthew 19:13-14. You added a comma that isn't there.

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

In the more plainly written NIV, it reads:
13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

That verse in praise of intelligence. Where is that now? Hmmmmm.
"Wisdom cries out in the street;
in the squares she raises her voice.
At the busiest corner she cries out;
at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
?How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools hate knowledge?"
- Proverbs 1:20-22

"Happy are those who find wisdom,
and those who get understanding,
for her income is better than silver,
and her revenue better than gold.
She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honour.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her;
those who hold her fast are called happy. "
- Proverbs 3:13-18

"The wise will inherit honour,
but stubborn fools, disgrace."
- Proverbs 3:35

"Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget, nor turn away
from the words of my mouth.
Do not forsake her, and she will keep you;
love her, and she will guard you.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever else you get, get insight.
Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;
she will honour you if you embrace her.
She will place on your head a fair garland;
she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.?"
- Proverbs 4:5-9

I could go on, but you get the idea.

As for my own favorite quote, it is this: "Quid es veritas?"

1Corinthian 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Isaiah 41: 10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I've heard this at a few weddings and I like it:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

A lot of it is upotian, but like I said, It sounds good at a wedding.

(agnostic)

That is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I like that one too. I had 'Love never fails' inscribed on the inside of my husbands wedding ring.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall possess the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. Ezekiel 23:20
