Your Favorite Quotes From The Bible?

Hey, I am an atheist, but that does not mean I do not appreciate the bible, and I in fact love a couple of the lines from it.

Issiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

What's your favorite?

[Ezekiel 25:17 among others]
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee"....Jules

Don't read it.

You should, if you ignore all the god stuff it provides some pretty good insight to human nature. That is not to say I read it all the time, in fact I have only seriously read it a few times in my life.

Not to mention whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, you really cannot understand many of the refrences in our society without reading the bible. Not to mention your screwed if you get a religion category on Jeopardy. 😛

Mr. Tarantino took some liberties with that passage.

"I have recently been examining all the known superstitions
of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition
(Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike
founded on fables and mythology."

Not the bible, it's from a much better writer: Thomas Jefferson

Your trolling is the stuff of legend. Bravo!

I've heard this at a few weddings and I like it:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

A lot of it is upotian, but like I said, It sounds good at a wedding.

Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known a man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)

Good old Moses, promoting the murdering or men, women and children. Keep the virgins alive though, we can rape them later. All in the name of the good Lord

I always wanted to memorize that line, but never got around to it. Maybe now would be a good time.

Science H. Logic... that sounds familiar 😉

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I AM the meanest son-of-a-b*tch in the valley.

Yep, anyone who doesn't believe in your fairy tales is a troll. The sad part is that I'm 100% sure that you truly believe that.
