No, you do not need RTCW to play Enemy Territory. It is a free download, make sure you update to the latest patch.
 
Yeah quake2!!!! I loved LMCTF !! I miss those days
I played CS for a while..but got bored of all the cheaters etc
I play q3 threewave mostly now.

heck yeah people still play it. its what me and my co-workers play, and there are still tons of ut public servers.
 
How big is the BF1942 community on the server? UT2003 server is pretty small community.

Also, do you need to buy the expansion packs to enjoy BF1942 like Warcraft and Frozen Throne?
